Lauren Wilkins is an accomplished dance educator with more than 25 years of experience in the classroom. She took her first ballet and tap class at the age of 3 and has been dancing ever since. In addition to her B.A. from the University of California-Santa Barbara, Lauren holds teaching certifications from Acrobatic Arts (Advanced), Progressing Ballet Technique, Alixa Flexibility, and Dance Masters of America as a 25-year member. She has also trained extensively in Pilates and Gyrotonic technique. From 2013 to 2022, Lauren served as the director of the Camarillo Academy of Performing Arts, where she taught and choreographed for thousands of students in ballet, jazz, tap, acrobatics, musical theater, contemporary, and lyrical dance. Many of her students have gone on to prestigious institutions such as Pacific Northwest Ballet, the School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theater, AMDA, the Juilliard School, University of Oklahoma City University, Texas State University, and more. Additionally, Lauren has taught aerial and acrobatics for The Aerial Studio, under the direction of Carmen and Gregg Curtis. Now, she is excited to be part of the Camarillo Dance Collective, living in Camarillo with her husband and three daughters. A special highlight of her journey is mentoring Ms. Rashelle Soudani, who was a three-year-old student in the first class that Lauren ever taught.
